When you use a Social Networking device, you are an “open season” target

Everyone’s heard of cyber-bullies and the devastation this epidemic is causing our youth in school, at home, and in their social networks. Turns out as juvenile as we think it is, this issue has escalated to epidemic porportions.

Do these things to protect yourself:

-Only allow contacts to be people you know, who you’ve read the profile of

-Go beyond their photos (most of the photos are inaccurate, anyway)

-Remember that once they have your information, it’s difficult to start your profile over

-Ensure your friends and relatives respect your privacy enough to keep your information private, no matter “who wants to surprise you”

-In this difficult time, the vast majority of people have something in their filing cabinet that doesn’t need to be posted publicly, but once it is…
the world will know

We need to stop and think about the best way to combat this issue. The best way is to not have it to worry about bullies at all, right?
